WORLD KITCHEN Our surprising set weekend dinners will change daily and reflect the diversity of the world's kitchens. For example, you could come across Brazilian on Friday, Irish on Saturday, Indian on Sunday. The following week might be Greek on Friday, Thai on Saturday, and Mexican on Sunday. Click on our calender and see which country and menu we selected.
WHERE? TheSawah is first of all: our own home sweet home. We happily live there, amidst the green rice and sugar cane fields just outside the romantic pottery village of Kasongan, south of Yogya. Our place has a tropical ambience, an elegant dining room, a spacious traditional joglo terrace and two other garden terraces.
SHARE So why not make theSawah more than our home? Why not share our place and food and ideas with those who love to be surprised as much as we do? Why not make theSawah a small scale pleasant place to eat for others as well? Where delicious dishes are accompanied by friendly personal contact.
ALTERNATIVES For or dinners we will not compete with the many Yogya chefs who serve traditional 'soto ayam' and regular 'nasi goreng', but for those tongues that don't enjoy the taste of foreign food, there is always a delicious Indonesian rijsttafel available. During our weekend lunches we serve rijsttafel (Indonesian or Indian style) as well.
If you are a vegetarian: contact us in time, then we can discuss and prepare a delicious dinner for you.
OPEN For regular dinners theSawah will be open in weekends only: Friday, Saturday, Sunday evenings from 7 pm. Bookings needed.
For Indonesian weekend lunches on Saturday and Sunday between 11am-3pm.
But we can also arrange for special parties any time. Contact us to take care of your birthday dinner, your business lunch, or any other kind of gathering.

To give us enough preparation time: for a dinner please inform us not later than 12 noon of the day you plan to come. For weekend lunch call one hour ahead.
