ARRIVING IN AFGHANISTAN
Unfortunately during decades already Afghanistan is more known by Taliban, violence and papaver production than by its food. Nevertheless, the country's cuisine is a lot more interesting than one might think, based upon the usual tv images. Afghan food is largely based upon cereals like wheat, maize, barley and rice which are the nation's chief crops. Meat dishes with lamb, mutton or goat are common and so is the use of yoghurt.
