The Chinese cuisine does not only serve 1.3 billion people in China, hundreds of millions more in other countries often enjoy their local variation of the Chinese cuisine, imported and adapted by immigrants from the most populous country on earth. A country so big has of course many regional cuisines. Sichuan and Cantonese are probably the most famous of them. Tonight we feature a soup and dessert from the Cantonese menu. And the main dish is a capital classic.
Cantonese Seafood and Mushroom Soup
The starter is a tasty soup with fish, shrimp and other seafood, combined with various types of mushrooms.
Peking Duck in Honey Sauce
The main dish is a Chinese classic one: the Peking duck (see photo). We fry it in honey and serve it with a honey sauce. It comes with green beans in black bean sauce and your choice of rice or potatoes.
Chocolate Cherry Lychees with Ice Cream
The dessert is another example of the Cantonese cuisine: lychees filled with candied cherries and then covered with chocolate. If you wish it comes with your choice of ice cream.
