HUNGRY ? HUNGARY !
The motto tonight is very true: come to theSawah with an empty stomach, because you will enjoy Hungarian food more if you are really hungry. The cuisine of the country is sometimes described as heavy or stodgy but we prefer the words rich or firm to characterize it. The hearty beef and vegetable mix that is world wide known as goulash (Hungarians name it gulyas) can be prepared as a filling soup or as a tasty main dish (see photo). Potatoes, paprika, sour cream and eggs feature heavily in Hungarian kitchens. The culinary meeting of Eastern and Western Europe make Hungarian cooking of a diverse and interesting nature.
