Syrian Lentil Soup with Spinach
We start with a mild spicy lentil soup with spinach and coriander.
Ghorme Sabzi (Iranian Beef Stew) and Bayd Bi Banadoura (Stewed Tomatoes with Egg)
The main dish tonight is a beef stew (photo) with basmati rice - the recipe comes from Iran, the beef from Australia. It contains amongst others raisins, almonds and cinnamon. It is served with Bayd Bi Banadoura, an interesting combination of stewed tomatoes with eggs, cinnamon and butter.
Marak Perot Car (Cold Fruit Bisque) with Passionfruit and Ice Cream
Marak Perot Car is a delicious middle eastern dessert in itself. It consists of cold pureed fruits such as cantaloupe (melon), strawberries, grapes and apples in orange juice. For this evening our chef Phillip created a variation with fresh passionfruit/marquisa and a scoop of ice cream.
